It's a waste of resource that everyone has its own car. But sharing with everyone is not interesting either as they don't take care of the car. What if you could share your car with people you know and trust they take care of it? You can send a request for the time when you need a car and all car owners can see and accept.

If an insurance can cover all of the problems so I don't have to fight with friends when something breaks - sure thing. Else it's more damaging for the relation than helpful.
